AKD has over 50 years experience successfully manufacturing, assembling and testing equipment for the power, utilities & nuclear industry. Our specialist manufacturing/fabrication facilities ensure we can offer a high degree of control of the engineering and manufacturing processes in the supply of small, medium and large engineered products. Our nuclear projects have primarily been for overseas nuclear contractors but are now shifting back to UK supply as a result in the renaissance in the home sector.

Our highly skilled team of engineers, skilled tradesmen, inspectors and support staff are fully familiar with nuclear quality requirements and are able to draw on the significant engineering support from senior management. We offer a complete 24 hour on-site service using our in-house personnel incorporating the identical level of control applied in our workshops.
Contracts to date have been carried out under our accredited ISO 9001:2008 system to PD5500, ASME VIII, ASME III and RCCM levels 3 & 4, a review is under way to establish manufacture to RCCM 1 & 2 standards. AKD hold approvals to PED schedule H and Achilles Category B2.
